MCLGA runs leagues for our member clubs to participate in. A summary of these is provided below but please see the dedicated pages on these leagues, and the Competition Terms page, for further detail.
- This is a handicap league that provides opportunities for members with mid to higher level handicaps to play against other member clubs in a friendly but competitive environment. Due to the popularity of this competition, which is traditionally played mid-week during the day, MCLGA have set up 2 independent leagues to balance the number of home and away matches, playing for the Greensomes Quaich and the Greensomes Trophy. At the end of each season there is a full redraw across both of the leagues. However, clubs with two teams will be put into separate leagues.
- Clubs can enter 2 teams, one in each league, if there is space to do so, but a member should elect to play in one of the leagues only. 6 members are selected to play in each match with a reserve also available should a player not be available to play.
- Results are recorded for each match and sent to the Greensomes Recorder who manages the league table administration.
- This is a scratch, individual matchplay handicap league, that provides opportunities for members with low to mid level handicaps to play against other member clubs in a more competitive environment.
- Matches are played in the early evening or occasionally at weekends, across 2 leagues playing for the MacFarlane Trophy (Division 1) and the Thomson Trophy (Division2).
- 2 clubs are promoted / relegated at the end of each season based on performance. 5 members are selected to play in each match with a reserve also being available should a player not be available to play.
- Results are recorded for each match and sent to the Competitions Administrator who manages the league table administration.
